Nabulsi soap is made using old Palestinian traditional methods dating back to the 10th century. It is extremely important to keep the traditional method of making olive oil soap alive, as it is another practice of resistance against cultural erasure. Only 3 of the 50 original factories remain fully functional because of the Israeli Occupation. By purchasing this soap, you are supporting businesses and families in Palestine by giving them a reason to continue production & helping keep this truly beautiful tradition alive.
***I carry soaps from the few different makers to share equity amongst Nabulsi soap workshops. The soap you receive may be wrapped in paper different than what is shown depending on which factory they are hand crafted in.
