This needle minder is highly magnetic. All you have to do is place the wooden portion of the minder on the face-up side of your fabric, and the second little magnet on the face-down part of the fabric so that it magnetizes to the top part. Then, when you put your needle on the needle minder, it will stay put!
It's perfect when you need to set your needle down to swap out threads, or to go grab a snack. It's also great if you're on-the-go!

They are wood burnt for me by a local woman run small business, and then hand assembled with permanent wood glue and the magnets & packaged by me!
